The Formal Induction Ceremony of the new Professional Members (Academicians) of the World Academy of Ceramics took place, as planned, on the occasion of the Inaugural Session of CIMTEC 2014.

The Session took place in the Auditorium of the "Palazzo dei Congressi" of Montecatini Terme on June 9 morning where many hundreds of CIMTEC delegates representing over sixty countries were attending.

After a welcome by Pietro Vincenzini, the General Chair of CIMTEC Conferences and WAC Chairman of Council, and a welcome by Masahiro Yoshimura and Gary Messing, respectively President and Vice President of WAC Advisory Board, Mrityunjay Singh, Chair of WAC Nomination Committee 2010-2014, briefly introduced the fifteen (out of the seventeen) Academicians selected on occasion of the 15th Election to WAC, including:

The new Academicians received the WAC diplomas from Dr. Singh and Prof. Yoshimura.

The other two new Academy Members selected at the 15th Election for the Class "Science", i.e. Jennifer A. Lewis, USA and Min Wang, China addressed their deep apologies for not being able to attend.
